Ultimate Linings is again reasserting its leadership role in the polyurea industry by recently earning two ISO certifications from NSF International Strategic Registrations (NSF-ISR), one recognizing excellence in environmental compliance, the other for noted achievement in occupational health and safety.
The two coveted certifications are the result of two years of hard work, commitment and cooperation, comprising plant-wide risk assessment, completion of environmental aspects and impacts forms, monthly training for all personnel, documentation of all process and procedures, and regular review by Ultimate Lining’s leadership team, which was hands-on at every phase of the certification process.
On the environmental side, Ultimate Linings achieved ISO 140001 certification—the world’s most recognized environmental regulation system—for its environmental management system (EMS) and its ongoing commitment to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in avoiding and minimizing environmental impacts in all areas of the company, from research to manufacturing to distribution.
An effective EMS helps to minimize environmental risks, reduce waste and energy consumption, and enhance resource efficiency, all of which are critical, company-wide goals at Ultimate Linings.
Ultimate Linings also earned ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety management systems certification from NSF-ISR.
ISO 45001/OHSAS 18001 certification provides the framework to increase safety, reduce workplace risks, prevent work-related injuries and ill health, and create an organizational culture that supports continual improvement. As the certification demonstrates, Ultimate Linings is committed to excellence and best practices that provide a safe working environment with the health and safety of employees and customers top of mind.
ISO 45001 is process-based, focusing on the interaction between an organization and its business environment. OHSAS 18001, on the other hand, addresses managing internal issues with a focus exclusively on risk. Together, these certifications put Ultimate Linings in a strong position to better ensure the safety of its workplace.
